Adult Protective Services is a program within the Division of Licensing and Protection which investigates allegations of abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable adults.

The Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging is a private nonprofit community organization whose mission is to be a positive force in making our region a better place to live and grow old. SVCOA provides people age 60+ and their families with information & assistance regarding services and programs which can help them to maintain their independence.SVCOA has been designated by the State of Vermont as the Area Agency on Aging for Rutland and Bennington counties.

The program offers counseling and assistance on a variety of topics including: Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Supplemental Insurance; long term care financing options and other health insurance options.

Vermont Legal Aid is a non-profit law firm organized into specialized projects serving clients from offices located throughout Vermont. VLA helps Vermonters who are low-income, elderly, or who have disabilities. There is no charge for services. Criminal cases are not handled.
